We stuck to high security systems, both to avoid trouble and to take the scenic route.

By the time we got to Pator our fleet had swollen to over 50 people and Pator it’s self was filling up with pilots from all corners of New Eden, we formed-up at Planet IV, the home world of Minmatar. This was a sight to behold; all these pilots coming to honour Poreuomai and to give him the best send off New Eden as ever seen.

There was plenty of local comm chatter, pilots were greeting each other, old friends catching up and the usual capsuleer banter. There was even a few old enemies within the group who put aside disputes to share in this moment for our mutual friend. In all; the group was good natured and it was a joy to see so many at the Matar home world.

(Video: Watch this video on the post page)

After a short time Ugleb, the Ushra’Khan appointed speaker, arrived and announced the ceremony would be starting shortly. We all began to settle down to hear the speech and turn to look at the planet before us.

Capsuleers! I welcome you all to this gathering, here above the skies of Matar itself. Please, if you have not already done so join us in orbit of the 4th planet, homeworld of the Minmatar people. This world beneath us has known both greatness and tragedy, its history we Minmatar hold dear to our hearts, while its ill fortunes grieve us to this day.

We are a people steeped in tradition, customs and diversity. Each Tribe and Clan has its own history and unique ways, truths that we each share and our lives are defined by. It is those times in life where we turn away from those truths that we begin to lose sight of who we truly are, what we truly want or where our lives should lead us. The Minmatar know this, or at least, we should.

The plight of our race is well known. When the skies of our home worlds darkened and the slavers in their mighty vessels descended upon us, our civilisation was brought to the very brink of the abyss. Our beliefs were forbidden, our traditions scorned and our elders put to the sword. Our very culture was threatened, and has lain gravely wounded ever since.

The Minmatar spirit did survive, albeit sorely wounded. In time we rose again, and the Republic emerged from the ashes of our once proud race. Since then however, we have struggled with our identity. With our society torn down and after so many years of oppression, who was left that could truly remember what it was to be a Minmatar?

It is the work of generations to regain what was lost, to reforge our identity, to reconnect with our personal truths. This is the calling that one of our own has chosen to dedicate his life to. Poreuomai, an honoured member of our ranks has decided to leave the pod behind and to return from the stars to the earth now below us.

Poreuomai has been a well known figure among Minmatar Capsuleers, in Matari politics and to the freedom movement. With his years of experience earned from flying among us now behind him, he returns to walk among the people he has pledged to serve.

Ours is a race that strives to recover what was taken from us. Our comrade and friend Poreuomai has chosen to dedicate himself to helping our peoples healing, to teach the lessons he learned, to help revive our lost heritage. We have been a lost and wounded people, our society conflicted between rediscovering our stolen past and the demands of the modern age.

It is Poreuomai’s mission to aide in that healing process, to help our people reconnect with lost identity and to so strengthen our society. It is a noble pursuit, one that may take him from world to world, working with all from the common man to politicians in high office. Perhaps in time he might even find his road lead him to a position in office.

We the Ushra’Khan have long called for political reforms both domestic and foreign, from Republic policy and CONCORD’s international law. But all of this is done for one singular purpose; to improve the lot of the common man. Be he free today, or one of the many as yet unliberatred.

It is Poreuomai’s duty now to work directly with the people we all seek to serve, and it is in celebration of that purpose and contribution that we are gathered in salute and celebration. This is a man who has not turned from the truths in his life, this is a man who knows his self. Our people have need of men like this. Our best wishes go with you my friend.

I hand over proceedings now to Neridhah Tanz, for a special announcement.

This was a heartfelt speech, but it was interrupted at the beginning by Amarr loyalists who decided to warp to our position and discharge a smartbomb in the midst of the tightly packed ships. This was high security space and CONCORD quickly descended and destroyed the terrorists, but the damage was done. Some of the pilots in the fleet arrived in shuttles or frigates which could not withstand the devastation of the smartbombs, although the pilots got out some of their crews we less fortunate.

The proceedings continued by one of our leaders, Neridhah Tanz:

Thank you Ugleb, and welcome everyone.

Poreuomai joined Ushra’Khan about a year before I did, and I met him while I was recruited into the alliance. At the time, he seemed far beyond my meagre skills – a seasoned veteran – and quite intimidating. I discovered that the latter was far from the case.

In fact he has always acted with good humour and dignity, helping new recruits, and supporting his corporation and alliance. Poreuomai also possesses a cutting intelligence, which until recently he loved to exercise in the Inter Galactic Summit. I still take the time to read his messages, despite my natural reclusiveness.

A cursory search will show the character of Poreuomai’s combat record, his debating skill, and reveal his enthusiasm and excitement for this community. His life with Ushra’Khan has been a full one, ranging from null sec wars, to corporation activities, supporting and debating with his friends in private and in public.

He relished it all, the thrill of flying in an all Matari fleet opposing the slavers in Providence, and flying beside his friends and allies in that historic moment being a particularly vivid memory. To me his attitude represented the best of what makes the Ushra’Khan a great place to be.
I for one will miss him. Judging from the variety and number of pilots assembled today, I am not alone.

I believe his new role as ambassador to our people will be time spent doing that which he most enjoyed – shaping and encouraging our peoples search for their rightful place in this world. In memory of Poreuomai’s contribution to us, all current corporations of the Ushra’Khan will institute a medal.

The object of this medal is to recognise those pilots who reflect the values of courage, good humour and basic humanity that Poreuomai lives. Those who receive this medal will forever be associated with him in our culture.

Poreuomai’s Gift.
Awarded to pilots of the Ushra’Khan whose actions reflect the values embodied by our friend Poreuomai, particularly those of; courage, shrewdness, and sacrifice, accompanied by a sense of humour and personal dignity.

Thanks again, for joining us today to celebrate his career and send our hopes on with him.

With that Ugleb returned to thank everyone for attending the ceremony, which everyone in the system replied with a salute or a wave. This was a touching sentiment to our dear friend and director and shows how much he was respected within New Eden.

With the official part of the ceremony over, many pilots continued in geostationary orbit to converse and catchup. There were the obvious rogue pilots from outside fleet that wished to mock or disrupt the good nature of the gathering, but we paid little attention to them except for noting their corporation/alliance/pilot name for later war declarations of course!

Eventually pilots began to disperse and leave the system; many of us left a small memento of a jettisoned container with the words “Poreuomai’s Salute” emblazoned for all to see.

Greetings Astroyka,

With your move to the Great Wildlands area we have relocated most of our Empire operations to a nearby high-sec region to facilitate any support you may need from us. The area isn’t as good as [location redacted], but we will make do with what we have and scout out better places shortly.

We have completed the setup of the Control Tower in [location redacted], this will be our new base for the production of Combat Boosters as well as research, development and invention of our core blueprints. We are sharing the responsibility of this tower with a colleague of yours, [name redacted], from Mirkur Draug’Tyr. He seems very happy with the arrangement and will be getting a cut of the profits we make as well as use of the towers facilities.

As you know, the produce from our planetary operations was being diverted into the Control Tower stocks to ensure we had enough fuel to run it for a minimum of 60 days. Now that this has been achieved we will be refocusing the production chains to supply the open market. We have also heard that there will soon be upgrades to the way we interact with our planetary colonies. The technical information looks promising and should reduce the time spent maintaining our colonies and make them more autonomous.

We have continued to manufacture our base market products and turnover has been steady despite the move to a new area. It seems we are still producing the appropriate products in demand for the area, but we will monitor this and look for other market holes to capitalise on.

Signing off, [name redacted]

::: end transmission :::

We have not been in the Great Wildlands area for long, but we have already run into a spot of diplomatic bother. Essentially we came to the Great Wildlands area to rest and recuperate from our long campaigns in Providence, many of us are tired and weary and simply wished to explore the area and make new friends and allies.

The alliance of capsuleers that seem to “rule” the area are called Republic Alliance (RE-AL), whether they have a mandate from the Thukker’s to manage/secure the area is debatable, but never the less they are seen as the dominant force.

Before we entered the Great Wildlands our diplomats contacted RE-AL to discuss mutual standings and possible allied relations since they seemed to have similar beliefs to Ushra’Khan (U’K). The negotiations went well and as we moved into the area it was nice to see blues in space giving us a sense of security and belonging.

This wasn’t to last though, a particular diplomat, Nykitah, of RE-AL began to make certain demands on U’K pertaining to our relationships with residents of the area. As you know, “standings” are way for our ship-board systems to identify which are friendly, neutral or enemy vessels flying through space. These standings are vital to all capsuleers as we can quickly identify if we are in a blue, red or neutral area of space and then adjust our travel/tactics accordingly.

Nykitah wanted U’K to match the standings of RE-AL so that their enemies were now our enemies! As you can imagine, this isn’t the U’K way. We have no quarrel with corporations or alliances in the area unless they are of course dealing, supporting or condoning slavery, in which case we would naturally set them red as we see fit or when a neutral aggress us without provocation.

Blindly setting alliances or corporations red based on another groups reasons means we are assuming those entities are against our beliefs or have wronged us in some way, even though we have never met them or fought with them, clearly this isn’t the way to do diplomacy! By forcing us to follow another alliances standings also means we are subservient to them, and as you know we don’t do subservience, we leave that kind of thing to the likes of Curatores Veritatis Alliance.

Since we won’t match RE-AL’s standings we have put ourselves in a bit of a sticky situation, diplomatically speaking, since they are still the presumed dominant force in the area we now have a group of corporations looking at us as the ones being unreasonable. The truth of the matter is that Nykitah has doctored logs and records to make us look even worse so yet again U’K are the bad guys and seen as a pirate organisation.

There are two fundamental Rules of Engagement (RoE) within New Eden, which fall between, NBSI (Not Blue, Shoot It) and NRDS (Not Red, Don’t Shoot). U’K is a NRDS organisation, especially in the Great Wildlands, this is a fact. We also operate NBSI in certain areas of New Eden since we are fighting to free enslaved brothers and sisters, as such we have to have more that one RoE to facilitate the eradication of slavery.

While I agree this duality to the untrained seems madness and some what hypocritical or even convenient, but let me assure you, no-one in U’K will shoot at a neutral vessel in Great Wildlands without first being provoked or has been categorically identified as a slaver (or supporter). This duality is also difficult for the brave men and women of U’K since we always need give the benefit of doubt to any neutral vessel in a system, and will openly avoid or even retreat to ensure the neutral does not feel threatened.

It is true that we have allied ourselves with what RE-AL believes are pirate organisations, Veritas Immortalis (-V-) et. Al., who operate a NBSI policy in Great Wildlands. Now some may think this is a terrible contradiction of U’K's values and beliefs, but those people need to realise is U’K does not require allies to follow the same standings that U’K sets and vice versa. A blue vessel to U’K may very well be a red vessel to an ally, so its down to diplomacy to resolve the conflict.

So, the upshot of all this is that U’K and RE-AL are now mutually red, its not the ideal outcome obviously, especially since we are so new to the area and are trying to build relationships with the residents, but we are where we are.

There has been some backlash in the Intergalactic Summit regarding the message we broadcast throughout New Eden and reading through the transcripts it looks like many pilots in RE-AL have no love for the present situation and have openly admitted that certain members of RE-AL are to blame!

It looks like this matter will be resolved with auto-cannon fire and assault missiles, who will win is anyone guess, but I can say with utmost authority that U’K will stick to its RoE and those that are neutral to U’K will be free to travel in the Great Wildlands so long as you are not allied, affiliated or profiting from the slave trade or you do not agress a U’K vessels.

Time to get back in space.

With the lack of comms recently its been hard to update you on what’s been happening, many many things have changed; but I’ll try to be brief!

Last we spoke we were fighting to save our space from mercenary invaders, Pandemic Legion, as well as fend off cowardly attacks from alliances that we once called friends and allies, Daisho Syndicate and Sodalitas XX. We spent a few weeks rallying the troops to defend both our space and that of our long time friends Against All Authorities; and we did a decent job at making the attackers pay for every inch of space.

We were out numbered though, so it was time to decide the fate of our remaining space and our alliance. Damu’Khonde (D’K) was born from the betrayal of a senior executive of the Ushra’Khan (U’K) alliance and the core corporations rallied to its banner in an effort to salvage what we had and were. These were honourable goals and the corporations that joined D’K made every effort to rekindle the U’K spirit, but the odds were against us.

D’K needed to assert its self as the leader in Providence, but we were without our logistics network and many in the alliance were weary of the endless defending of space to the onslaught of would-be empire builders. All this seemed to be counter to the the edicts of U’K and so many in the alliance questioned the path of D’K.

So it was time to once again step back and take a look at what we were and what we can be! Its been a turbulent year of changes, but change is not a bad thing, it gives focus, goals and meaning. Our council and command agreed that Providence isn’t what defined U’K, despite the history of the area, it was more to do with the core ideals we believe in as a group of corporations fighting for the oppressed.

With our path decided the machinations of command and council set about gifting, trading and securing any and all Providence space we owned to trusted alliances in the region to ensure freed slaves had a place to call home if they intended to stay. Orders were given to evacuate Providence and head for the Great Wildlands!

Leaving Providence seemed odd at first, we have been fighting for the space for such a long time and had retaken many historical systems from long time enemies, but holding on to what we had gained and dealing with the politics of the region didn’t live up to expectations.

Our freed brothers and sisters were safe that wished to stay behind in Providence and each corporation organised its members for the journey to the Great Wildlands. Our leaders informed the wider New Eden populace of our move and the reasons for it, and with that we headed for our new home.

The creation of D’K was focused on holding space within Providence, since we were no longer a space holding alliance this was an ideal opportunity to rekindle our partisan spirit and reform again under the U’K banner! Many corporations were ecstatic at the prospect of being part of U’K once again, including Mirkur Draug’Tyr, we were again getting back to our roots and our core beliefs.

To mark our arrival in the Great Wildlands and the reformation of Ushra’Khan, tonight we spread across New Eden to broadcast a message across the stars in all Local comms channels:

This is the voice of the Ushra’Khan. Heed our words.

As I speak to you here, my brothers speak with me across the span of light years. We speak in unison, a multitude of voices bearing one, singular message across scores of solar systems. We invite you to share in this moment with us.

We are an organisation dedicated to the pursuit of but one goal; the eradication of slavery throughout New Eden. It is a goal that has over the years earned us fame and notoriety in equal measure, our methods decried by some and admired by others.

We have known criticism, and been humbled by the hand of fate too. But today we stand before you unrepentant. We are the Ushra’Khan, and our resolve is unbroken, our goals unchanged. Despite all that befalls us, we shall continue in our mission.

Our ideals remain unrealised, and it is towards their fulfilment that we strive. Providence has been left behind us, its control given over to the coalition formed in place of the former slaver dominance over the region. It is our hope that these alliances can maintain the promise of a liberated future for its populace.

We have returned in body, name and spirit to live among free Matari in the Great Wildands region. There we seek to reconcile with our estranged brothers living among the tribal lands. Our past grievances with the former pro-appeasement government of Minmatar Republic may now be reconciled.

As the Elders have brought home the Starkmanir and Nefantar tribes, we ever aspire to continue that work and to return ourselves from distant lands to be among our people. Perhaps now our years apart might draw to a close.

It is to that end that we have adopted an ‘NRDS’ engagement policy within the Great Wildlands, and hope to find common ground with its residents. We do not demand that our friends follow our lead in their affairs, but do not suffer others to dictate ours.

It is to our disappointment that we find ourselves confronted with standings enclosurism present in the region. Time and again we have been confronted by those who demand we follow their policies, befriend their friend and reject their rival. We reject this notion.

We are free pilots and exercise our right to make our own choices in pursuit of our cause; and to defend the rights of others to make those same choices. We shall not validate a system that denies this. It is one thing to seek order in life, it is quite another to impose it on others.

We find this attitude present within the spacelanes of the Thukker’s great caravans to be a great disappointment, and an unwelcome reminder of the laws laid down in former Amarrian Providence under ‘Operation Deliverance’.

Mark these words, Capsuleers of the Wildlands. We come not to threaten you or to impose change upon you. This is no invasion, and these words are no ultimatum. We come simply to live among our people.

We have no quarrel with you, if you have none with us. How you choose to receive us is your choice to make. We shall continue to operate ‘NRDS’ within the region, if you choose to make yourselves an enemy, so be it. It shall be your choice.

But the Wildlands are not the full scope of our world, far from it. Our mission shall take us beyond the borders of Tribal lands on a daily basis. We look upon Amarr, and see evil at work. We see an Imperial regime that enslaves and exploits entire cultures, a regime that mounts a self-proclaimed ‘holy’ crusade upon its neighbours.

Although the Starkmanir & Nefantar are in part returned to liberty, many billions remain behind in the Ammatar Mandate under the governorship of an Amarrian ‘Royal Holder’, the house Ardishapur. Since the Elders came the Mandate has been subjected to intensified cultural subversion, as propaganda is interwoven into society under the guise of ‘aid & reconstruction’.

The mass-construction of so-called Faith schools, Cathedrals and the replacement of great swathes of upper government and military posts with ‘True’ Amarrians. Look closely, the Ammatar have been reigned in, the leash is tightening under the pretence of post-war redevelopment.

A great undertaking remains before us. As the free Tribes begin at last to raise themselves higher than ever before, the Amarr seek to bring those still left behind ever closer to their knees. We must not forget those people, and we must act for their salvation, not by god, but by the hands of their brothers.

We remember them. And every action we take is but one in the long war to win their freedom. Their right to choose for themselves, perhaps for the first time in their lives.

We are the Ushra’Khan. We come for our people.

Some of you may have noticed that this service has been unavailable for a couple of weeks, for this I apologise. The cause of the problem was related to routing of my Neocom data files to this public server.

I could speculate that my enemies or those of my corporation or alliance were to blame, but the sophisticated nature of the loss in data transmission would suggest a higher authority at work. I have no true suspicion that CONCORD was to blame, but I do know that the Caldari State have been leaving “calling cards” so maybe they have an hand in this also.

Anyway, this service has been restored with additional safe guards!

Server died, had to replace it, backups restored, everything copesetic!

I returned to active duty a few days ago after some long needed rest and relaxation. It was good to be planet side for a little while and forget about the politics of New Eden, but it couldn’t last, I needed to get back into space and fight for our cause or defend what is ours.

Trying to catchup on recent events hasn’t been too hard, not much has happened while I was away. Reading the battle reports and logs, there has been some good fights and we have been defending our space very well whilst either outnumbered or out gunned. I’ve also read that Daisho Syndicate, Sodalitas XX and Dara Cothrom have established a coalition to try and take providence away from us, which will make roaming around our space a bit more fun.

Speaking of Daisho Syndicate and Sodalitas XX, we declared war against them this week, obviously I’m sure they saw this coming and I’m sure they know the reasons for the war as well. Will be great to have some war targets again, seems such a long time since we had a true enemy that needed a war declaration.

This weekend also saw the anniversary of my one year membership with Mirkur Draug’Tyr, how time flies, only seems yesterday that I was running from certain authorities and needed the refuge of Mirkur and Ushra’Khan! At lot has happened in that time too, but I will leave the summation of that until the end of the calendar year!

I would like to renew my words of support and dedication to Mirkur and thank the management and directors for both welcoming me to the corporation over a year ago and the trust they have show me during my membership.

We have lost a good few corp. members recently, many have moved into Empire to find riches or a new path, others have left to join more specialised corps. Its always sad when we lose members, but they never really go that far. In fact a certain member who left a couple of months ago (who shall remain nameless) confided in me that he his thinking about returning to our corp. soon, which will be a great boon for us and our future!

So, that’s about all I can report without setting off alarms or giving Intel away to our enemies, suffice to say I’m back and ready to do some damage!

The last few weeks have certainly taken their toll and what with recent events with Pandemic Legion (PL) time has been short and so is my logging of the events!

To bring you up to speed, we are currently at war with many factions and alliances all looking to either topple our close ally Against ALL Authorities (-A-) or make opportunistic strikes to gain more space. Some of the attackers are honourable in their own mercenary way, but others are back stabbing traitors and will be taught a severe lesson in the art of null sec warfare.

It all started with the fall of Atlas Alliance (Altlas) a few weeks ago at the hands of PL, which was rather quick as the Atlas leadership was either planet-side or burnt-out. Our alliance watch this from afar and offered support if needed, but the end came too quickly for anyone to help so we sat back and watched the aftermath.

It wasn’t long before our alliance came to the attention of PL and they struck us where they thought it would hurt us the most, our Capital Ship Construction facilities. We heard intel that this was their tactic to deny us any further capital ships and also as retribution regarding a diplomatic issue with a member of our alliance. We were not fooled by this, we knew that they had bigger plans.

Bigger plans indeed; its now the aim of PL to strike at -A- and try and take down the alliance in a similar manner as they did with Atlas. This won’t be as easy, there are many Providence alliances that are rallying to help -A- with us being one of them. It is not out of any sense of debt that we rally to -A- since they were instrumental in helping us defeat CVA so swiftly, but instead its about honour!

We have a huge amount of respect for the -A- alliance and we would be remiss to allow such and entity to fail without assisting them at their time of need.

So we are at war, not only with PL but some of the largest alliances in all of New Eden, including The Initiative and IT Alliance. The outcome of the war is not clear and we may lose much if not all of our space, but we are not defined by the space we hold, instead we are defined by our actions as warriors and as honourable men and women!

Our alliance leaders and council have carved our future and we as loyal members will gladly follow their lead into the fiery oblivion if needed, but we know that the next few weeks will see the resurgence of the core values of Ushra’Khan living and breathing under the banner of Damu’Khonde!

Granted we have lost our high-sec entry system, KBP7-G, but this matters not and in-fact it has spurred many into action and strengthened our resolve.

So, even though this is probably not the best time to take some rest and relaxation I doubt there will ever be, so I better get in my shuttle and head planet side and be back as soon as possible to wreak havoc on those that wish to do us and our friends harm.

Flay safe warriors and skin a few invaders for me!
